We are looking for an experienced, positive and agile

LOGISTIC COORDINATOR

to join our Logistics team at Marimekko´s HQ in Helsinki.

As a Logistics Coordinator you ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time. You act as a logistics expert internally and as a representative of relevant logistics matters externally. Your responsibility is to manage outbound shipments with the aim of developing the supply chain process to be more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. Your daily activities consist of monitoring and managing outbound deliveries, specializing in shipments within sales area of Europe and warehousing operations. Experience and knowledge of export shipments and international trade in general is appreciated. In this role you work cross-functionally with different internal and external stakeholders and you are part of Marimekko´s logistic team of 9 logistic professionals.

This is a full-time permanent position, in which you will report to Marimekko’s Logistic Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Transportation Management: planning, monitoring, optimizing and tracking of deliveries to wholesale customers in Finland and Europe.
  • Preparing relevant shipping documentation and invoicing
  • Collaboration with transport companies and forwarders
  • verifying and allocating freight invoices
  • Delivery claims handling  
  • Monthly reporting of logistics
  • Warehouse operations: managing processes and supporting outsourced warehouse’s operations. Ensuring and supporting continuous dialogue with warehouse operators’ performance 
  • Providing guidance in logistic matters to purchasing department, marketing and sales department and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuous development of operations and systems in cooperation with stakeholders such as finance teams, sales teams, customer service and logistic companies
  • Provide backup for colleagues when needed
  • ERP development, testing and team support; Key user role.

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • A relevant educational background e.g. international business or logistics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse logistics operations and / or export operations
  • A proactive and innovative approach to work, problem solving skills, and flexibility in different situations
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in logistics analytics and supply chain management
  • Ability to perform under pressure with good planning and organizing skills
  • Interest and passion in process and system development in a key user role
  • Experience and knowledge of usage of ERP systems
  • Fluent communication skills in Finnish and in English
