We are looking for a

DESIGN STUDIO ASSISTANT

To join our dynamic RTW and B&A Design team at our Helsinki HQ!

In this role, you will assist the collection development process from initial concept to final product. You will assist designers in their day-to-day operational tasks and collaborate closely with our Product and Technical Development teams, Artwork Studio, and Sampling Studio located in our own mill. You will report to the Design Director, RTW & Bags and Accessories.

To succeed in this role, you should have an interest in the fashion industry, great organisational and teamwork skills. You are eager to learn, contribute to the design process, and enjoy working with both in-house and freelance designers. You have a solid understanding of product design, a keen eye for colour, and strong technical skills. You are proactive, take responsibility on designated tasks, and are motivated to contribute to Marimekko’s bright future. 

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:   

• To assist team in RTW and B&A Collection development work 
• To help the Design team with administrative and practical tasks 
• To co-ordinate and help to prepare different presentations / events 
• To make and update print and product instructions during product development process

We  expect  you to have:   

• Suitable educational background, e. g. Fashion design degree (BA)  
• Excellent IT skills, especially in Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign   
• An exceptional eye for colors 
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure  
• Excellent teamwork skills  
• Fluent communication skills, both in written and verbal English, Finnish is an advantage
